Cell Cycle

A cell cycle is a sequence of proceedings that happens in a cell as it develops and divides. A cell spends most of its time in what is known as interphase, and during this time it develops, duplicates its chromosomes, and formulates for cell division. The cell then leaves interphase, experiences mitosis, and finishes its division.

M Phase

M Phase is referred to as the Mitotic Phase. During this phase, the cell divides its duplicate DNA and cytoplasm to make two fresh cells. M phase comprises two separate division-related procedures including mitosis and cytokinesis.

Significance of Mitosis

Mitosis is a procedure where a single cell splits into two identical daughter cells. The purpose of mitosis is cell regeneration, cell growth, and asexual reproduction.

Meiosis

Meiosis refers to a procedure where a single cell divides twice to develop four cells comprising half the original amount of genetic facts. These cells are our sex cells including the sperm in males, eggs in females. During meiosis one cell gets divided twice to form four daughter cells.

Significance of Meiosis

Meiosis is accountable for the development of sex cells or gametes that are accountable for sexual reproduction. It stimulates the genetic information for the progress of sex cells and neutralizes the sporophytic information. It continues the continuous number of chromosomes by splitting the same.

Karyokinesis

During the process of cell division, the method of the partition of a cell’s nucleus into the daughter cells is referred to as Karyokinesis. In this process, the DNA shortens and the chromosomal substance divides equally into two halves.

Cytokinesis

Cytokinesis refers to the physical procedure of cell division, which splits the cytoplasm of a parental cell into two daughter cells. This process happens alongside with two types of the nuclear division known as mitosis and meiosis, which also happen in the animal cells.
