Rutherford Atomic Model

Rutherford atomic model projected that the negatively charged electrons border the nucleus of an atom. He also demanded that the electrons adjacent the nucleus rotate around it with very high speed in spherical paths. He termed these spherical paths as orbits.

Thomson Atomic Model

In Thomson’s atomic model, the atom is collected of electrons enclosed by a soup of positive charge to balance the electrons’ negative charges, such as negatively charged “plums” enclosed by positively charged “pudding”.

Bohr Atomic Model

The Bohr Atomic Model was proposed by Niels Bohr in 1915. It is a planetary model in which the negatively charged electrons surround a small, positively charged nucleus identical to the planets revolving around the sun.

Dual Behaviour of Electromagnetic Radiation

Electromagnetic radiation has electric and magnetic fields that instantaneously oscillate in planes equally perpendicular to one another and to the direction of propagation through space. It is considered as the electromagnetic radiation has a dual nature because it displays wave properties as well as photon properties.

Planck’s Quantum Theory

Planck’s quantum theory states that the smallest amount of energy that can be produced or absorbed in the form of electromagnetic radiation is termed as quantum. The energy of the radiation engaged or produced is directly proportional to the frequency of the radiation.

Line Spectrum of Hydrogen

Bohr’s atomic model states that the spectral lines of the hydrogen atomic emission spectrum. While the electron of the atom rests in the ground state, its energy is unaffected. When the atom grips one or more quanta of energy, the electron transports from the ground state orbit to an excited state orbit that is a distance away.
