Thermodynamics

Second Law of Thermodynamics

The second law of thermodynamics describes that any naturally happening process will always lead to the growth in the entropy of the universe. This statement describes the first law of thermodynamics.

Reversible and Irreversible Processes

The reversible process is the supreme process which never happens, while the irreversible process is the natural process that is usually found in nature.

Carnot Engine

Carnot engine is a theoretic thermodynamic cycle projected by Nicolas Léonard Sadi Carnot in the year 1824. Carnot describes that a hot body is required to produce heat and a cold body to which the caloric is transported, which generates mechanical work in the process.

Equation of State

An equation of state is defined as the connecting state variables that define the state of matter under a certain set of physical conditions, such as pressure, temperature, volume, or internal energy.
