• Further calculating the distance covered by the object in kilometres.

Measuring the Rate of Motion

• Uniform motion: movement of a body along the straight line with a steady speed.
• Non-uniform motion: movement of a body along a straight line but with a change in its speed.
• The formula to measure average speed = total distance travelled / total time taken.
• Speed with direction: This specifies movement along with the speed. The speed of an object moving in a direction is described as velocity. The average velocity = initial velocity + final velocity / 2.

Rate of Change of Velocity: It is also known as acceleration and is described in the second law of Newton. The acceleration of the object is an overall result of the forces acting upon it. Acceleration = change in velocity / time taken

Graphical Representation of Motion

• Distance time graphs: determining the speed of an object by using a time graph.by mentioning the time on the x-axis and distance(in km) on the y-axis.
• Velocity time graphs: learning the accelerated movement by plotting it on a velocity-time graph.

Uniform Circular Motion: Tracking the motion on closed tracks of different shapes.

For example, motion on a rectangular track, hexagonal track, octagonal-shaped track or a circular track
