Some examples of fossil fuels include natural gas, coal and petroleum.  This section also tells you how heavily reliant we are on fossil fuels. This part of the chapter talks about how biomass and biogas plants are used for gas extraction. You shall also learn how gobar gas is formed out of cow dung and how sewage waste and plant matter are decomposed to produce biogas. 

  • Wind Energy

  • Question set  1 consists of 3 questions, and all the three are short answer questions. Question 1, 2 and 3 are based on a good source of energy and good fuel. 
  • Question set 2 consists of 3 questions, and all the three are short answer questions. Question 1 focuses on the disadvantages of fossil fuels. Question 2 asks you to write details on alternate sources of energy. Question 3 is based on wind and water energy. 
  • Question set 3 consists of 4 questions, and all the four are short answer questions. Question 1 is based on a solar cooker. Question 2, 3 and 4 are based on various forms of energy such as energy from the sea, geothermal energy and Nuclear energy. 
  • Question set  4 consists of 2 questions. Question 1 focuses on the pollution-free source of energy. Question 2 asks you about CNG. Here you have to explain the given statement with a suitable example. 
  • Question set 5 consists of 2 questions, in which question 1 asks you to write about the sources of energy which are renewable and question 2 needs you to write about the sources of energy which are exhaustible.
