Huygens Principle 

Physics NCERT Class 12 Chapter 10 will introduce you to the concept of Huygen’s Principle which informs that every point on a wavefront is a potential source of the secondary waves. Polarization by Reflection 

When a ray of polarized light is incident on the boundary which lies between any two mediums which are transparent in nature the reflected light tends to get polarized. The light is polarized in such a way that its electric vector becomes perpendicular to the plane of incidence, and the reflected and the refracted light make a right angle with each other at the same time. The angle of incidence in this situation is termed as the Brewster’s angle and it is related to the refractive index of the medium which is denser in nature. 

Principle of Superposition of Waves 

In this chapter, you will also come across the concept of the Principle of Superposition of Waves. This principle applies itself wherever there are two or more sources of light which are illuminating at the very same point. When the intensity of the light due to these sources is brought into consideration, the occurrence of an interference term is observed. However, this interference term is only essential in case if it has an average which is anything but null. This condition occurs only when the source of the light has a similar frequency and a stable phase difference.
