To make a saturated solution, 36 g of sodium chloride is dissolved in 100 g of water at 293 K. Find its concentration at this temperature. 


Mass of Sodium Chloride (Solute)= 36 g

Mass of Water (Solvent)= 100 g

Therefore the mass of Solution = the mass of solute + the mass of solvent= 136 g 

Therefore the concentration of the Solution = (mass of solute / mass of solvent) * 100= 26.47%

Process of Separation of Impurities 

The Chapter also sheds light on the various processes of separation of impurities from a substance. These processes include crystallization, emulsification, centrifugation, evaporation and sublimation.
