sol. (1) Let B alone can do the work in ( x ) days. ( therefore A ) can do the work in ( frac{3 x}{2} ) days. According to the question, ( frac{1}{x}+frac{2}{3 x}=frac{1}{18} ) ( Rightarrow frac{3+2}{3 x}=frac{1}{18} Rightarrow frac{5}{3 x}=frac{1}{18} ) ( Rightarrow 3 x=18 times 5 ) ( Rightarrow x=frac{18 times 5}{3}=30 ) days
